Big Red Treats is a locally owned soft-serve ice cream, popcorn, and fudge shop built around one simple belief: Always Celebrate.
We are more than a dessert shop. We are a community hangout. A third place where kids, teens, families, and grandparents all feel welcome. As we enter our first full busy season with two locations, we are looking for a Community Marketing Manager to help bring our vision to life and deepen our connection with the Grand Island community.
This role is for someone who wants to work for a locally owned company led by visionary owners with big goals and a strong sense of purpose.
The Role
The Community Marketing Manager is responsible for driving awareness, traffic, and connection through community-focused marketing, promotions, events, and partnerships.
This is a hands-on, people-facing role that blends in-store presence with meaningful work out in the community. It is not a desk-only job and not a corporate marketing position. It is ideal for someone who loves people, has ideas, communicates well, and follows through.
This role works closely with the owners and design team and reports directly to leadership.
Schedule & Structure
- 40 hours per week
- 20 hours in-store (typically noon–4pm on weekdays)
- 20 hours flexible, including:
- Community events and markets
- Local partnerships and outreach
- Promotions and planning
- Occasional evenings and weekends are required
- Reliable transportation is helpful for community events and off-site activities
What You’ll Do
Community Presence & Partnerships
- Build relationships with local businesses, schools, churches, and organizations
- Coordinate partnerships and cross-promotions
- Represent Big Red Treats at community events and pop-ups
Promotions & Events
- Plan and execute weekly and monthly promotions
- Help fill and manage Community Nights
- Support birthday parties, group events, and special celebrations
- Own the promotions calendar and ensure ideas are executed well
Marketing & Communication
- Collaborate closely with our design team
- Use Canva to support marketing materials and communication
- Assist with email marketing and social media coordination
- Ensure promotions are clearly communicated to staff and guests
Sales & Growth Support
- Support growth in popcorn, fudge, beverages, and gift cards
- Help create momentum around monthly sales goals
- Track what’s working and bring ideas for improvement
In-Store Presence
- Be present and engaged during assigned in-store hours
- Support staff with clarity around promotions
- Help maintain a professional, welcoming environment across both locations
What Success Looks Like
In the first 90 days, you’ll be building community relationships, confidently owning the promotions calendar, and helping bring consistent energy and momentum to both locations.

- Not just a social media job
- Not a graphic design role
- Not a staff scheduling or operations position
- Not remote
This role requires presence, creativity, and ownership.
Compensation & Growth
- $40,000 annual salary
- 0.5% profit share, tied to overall company performance
Compensation reflects the importance of this role and will be reviewed as the company grows.
